The partnership seeks to make Nairobi more livable, secure, and efficient for its approximately 4.4 million residents, through large-scale investments in lighting, water, sanitation, roads, and waste management.
As part of the initiative, Sh3.7 billion will be used to complete 10,000 unfinished street lights and install an additional 40,000 lights across the city.
An extra Sh1.5 billion, through Kenya Power, is being allocated to transformers and last-mile electricity connections in informal settlements.

Water infrastructure is also being strengthened, with Sh2.1 billion directed to the Ng’ethu Treatment Plant to reduce daily losses of about 50 million litres, and Sh3 billion set aside for the Gigiri–Shauri Moyo evacuation corridor.

Sanitation projects include Sh9 billion for twin 27-kilometre trunk sewer lines along the Nairobi River Corridor and Sh6 billion for a new sewer treatment plant capable of handling 60 million litres daily.

During the inspection, President Ruto said these combined efforts will restore the Nairobi River ecosystem, enhance public health, and position Nairobi as a leading African metropolis on the global stage.
