The County Government of Siaya has begun distributing a KSh 84 million consignment of essential medicines, medical supplies, and laboratory reagents to health facilities across the county in a move aimed at strengthening healthcare service delivery.
Governor James Orengo announced the development, saying the supplies will be delivered to all 178 health facilities through an efficient last-mile distribution system to ensure uninterrupted access to healthcare services.

According to the governor, the consignment is expected to secure medical stocks in county health facilities for the next three months, reducing the risk of shortages and improving access to treatment for residents.
“My administration remains deeply committed to delivering quality, reliable healthcare to every corner of our county,” Orengo said.
The governor emphasized that transparency and accountability measures have been put in place to safeguard the supplies and ensure they reach the intended beneficiaries.
He assured residents that robust oversight mechanisms have been established at every level of distribution to prevent misuse and guarantee that medicines are available to patients who need them most.

The distribution forms part of the county government’s broader efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve service delivery in public health facilities.

Orengo reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a dependable healthcare system and called on residents to continue supporting development initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of Siaya residents.

The latest consignment is expected to enhance the capacity of hospitals, health centres, and dispensaries across the county as the government seeks to provide quality and accessible healthcare services.
