OnlyFans Owner Leonid Radvinsky Dies at 43

Leonid Radvinsky, the owner of OnlyFans, has died at the age of 43 after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Born in Ukraine and raised in Chicago, Radvinsky acquired the platform in 2018 from its UK-based founders. Under his leadership, OnlyFans experienced rapid growth, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, eventually earning him a spot on Forbes’ list of billionaires within three years.

The platform, launched in 2016, allows creators to share photos and videos with subscribers who pay through tips or monthly fees. While it hosts a variety of content such as fitness and cooking, it is widely recognised for adult material and direct interaction between creators and fans.

OnlyFans takes a 20% commission on earnings and has grown into a major business, generating about $1.4 billion in revenue from transactions exceeding £7 billion in 2024. That same year, it had over 377 million users and around 4.6 million creators.

However, its rapid expansion also attracted scrutiny from regulators and lawmakers, particularly over concerns about underage access and illegal content. In 2024, UK regulator Ofcom investigated the platform over age verification issues, later fining the company for providing inaccurate information.

The company had previously faced criticism for failing to adequately address illegal material and briefly announced plans in 2021 to ban explicit content before reversing the decision following backlash.

Radvinsky, a graduate of Northwestern University, was also an investor in tech startups through his venture firm, Leo.com, and supported charitable causes, including donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. His net worth was estimated at $4.7 billion, and he had recently been exploring a potential sale of the company.
