One person has died and eleven others were injured in a road crash along the Londiani–Muhoroni Highway in Fort Ternan, Kericho County.
The accident occurred when two buses traveling to Port Victoria collided with a stationary truck on the busy highway.
Some passengers alleged that the driver of the Legend bus was speeding and failed to slow down despite warnings.
One passenger, Simon Opiyo, blamed poor road conditions, saying, “We are blaming the government for this road; there are blackspots and it needs more speed bumps.”
Another survivor, Rose Awiti, expressed her frustration over losses in the crash. “I had gone to Nairobi to pick up shoes, which were very important to me.
“We’ve had an accident, the shoes were stolen, and I don’t even know where to start or who will help me,” she said.
