The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has resumed issuing motor vehicle number plates after successfully addressing a nationwide shortage that had lasted for several months.
NTSA Board Chairperson Khatib Mwashetani confirmed that the Authority has started receiving deliveries of number plates, and distribution to applicants is now in progress.
While inspecting the newly delivered plates, Mwashetani highlighted that measures are in place to ensure the efficient processing and distribution of plates.
NTSA added that customers who have received notifications to collect their plates should pick them up at the offices where they originally applied.
NTSA Director General George Njao reassured vehicle dealers and the public that the supply chain issues causing the delays have been fully resolved.
The resumption of number plate issuance brings relief to vehicle owners and dealers who had been experiencing delays in registration and operations due to the shortage.
