Police say a shop attendant who had been left in charge is missing and is now considered a key person of interest. The shop owners reportedly returned on Sunday to find the premises disturbed, leading to the discovery.
Kanari, believed to have been working as a house help nearby, is said to have visited the shop before the incident. Authorities noted visible stab wounds and recovered two blood-stained knives at the scene, though the motive remains unclear.
The body was taken to a mortuary for post-mortem as investigations continue.
In a separate incident in Kangundo, a 33-year-old woman, Victoria Nditi Musyoka, died after a domestic dispute. She had reportedly visited her children when an altercation broke out. She was rushed to hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
A man linked to the incident has been detained as police continue with investigations.

Elsewhere in Navakholo, the body of 37-year-old John Sifuna, who had earlier been reported missing, was found in a stream. Officers who visited his home noticed suspected blood stains that appeared to have been covered up.
His body, which had visible injuries, was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. Police say investigations are ongoing, with no arrests made so far.
