Police have launched investigations into the death of a 38-year-old worker at a cabro manufacturing factory in Samburu area, Kwale County.
The deceased, identified as Kitsao Charo, was fatally injured on January 28, 2026, after being hit by a machine used in the production of cabros. Reports indicate that the accident occurred while he was cleaning the machine’s pressing area.

Charo was rushed to hospital for treatment but was declared dead upon arrival. Following the incident, factory operations were briefly suspended to allow police to document the scene.
His body was later transferred to the mortuary as authorities await postmortem results.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Oyugis, Homa Bay County, a suspected robber was killed during an attempted robbery at a local butchery. Police said the suspect was part of a group of five that tried to rob a businessman.

During the confrontation, the businessman, who was reportedly armed with an axe, struck one of the suspects, causing fatal injuries. The group is said to have made away with Sh30,000. The suspect’s body was taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
