Mystery as Human Bones Discovered in Makueni Forest

Police in Nzaui Subcounty, Makueni County, have recovered human skeletal remains from the Nzaui Hill forest in an incident whose circumstances are still unclear.

According to Nzaui Subcounty Police Commander Agnes Kunga, the remains were discovered by a member of the public on Sunday at around 4:35 p.m., who promptly alerted authorities.

Police officers visited the scene, collected the bones, and transported them to Sultan Hamud Subcounty Hospital mortuary for preservation and further analysis. The identity of the remains has not yet been established.

Initial assessments suggest the bones may have been at the site for a long period, though the exact duration is unknown. Authorities have also not determined whether the remains belong to a male or female.

Kunga further noted that there are currently no missing persons reports at Nzaui Police Station that can be directly linked to the discovery.

She called on the public to report any cases of missing persons to help with investigations and possible identification.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
