Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has received a summons from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) regarding allegations of incitement.

According to a letter obtained by the Star, Babu Owino is required to provide information relevant to investigations into accusations of incitement and money laundering.
The DCI has stated that they believe the MP possesses crucial information essential to their inquiry. Babu Owino has been instructed to appear at the DCI Nairobi County Headquarters Police Station on Wednesday.
In the summon letter issued by Detective Eunice Njue, it states, “I request you Hon. Babu Owino to report to me at DCI Nairobi County Headquarters Police station today on the 24th day of July, 2024 at 9:00 hrs and furnish me with full information concerning the case.” Failure to comply may result in legal consequences, as emphasized in the communication.
Taking to social media, Babu Owino expressed his reaction to the summons, describing it as outrageous. In an interview with the Star, he denounced the allegations as politically motivated, aimed at intimidating him due to his advocacy for the people.
