A middle-aged man has died after being attacked by an elephant in Rakhasi, Talio, within the Sagala area of Taita Taveta County.
The victim, identified as Allen Mwachoki, was discovered on Sunday evening with apparent injuries. His body has been transferred to the Moi Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
In recent days, elephants and other wildlife have been increasingly sighted near residential areas, driven by the ongoing severe drought.
The most affected regions include Tsavo National Park and nearby community conservancies.
