A two-year-old boy has died after being struck by a donkey in Olasi village, East Kano area of Nyando Sub-county, Kisumu County.
Police say the incident happened at the homestead of the child’s grandfather when the toddler wandered close to the animal.
The donkey allegedly kicked the boy, causing serious chest injuries.
The child died while being rushed to a nearby health facility. The family later took the body back home before notifying authorities.
Police officers responded and helped transfer the body to the mortuary as investigations into the incident continue.
