Authorities are probing the sudden death of a police officer from the Presidential Escort Unit who collapsed while getting into a vehicle in Karen, Nairobi.
The officer, identified as Sergeant Daniel Kipruto Kangogo, was reportedly about to enter an official four-wheel-drive vehicle when he suddenly collapsed. His colleagues immediately rushed him to Karen Hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 22, around 3 p.m., while the officer and his team were on duty in the area. He was with fellow officers at the time of the incident.
The exact cause of death remains unknown. The body has been taken to the morgue, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine what happened.
The Presidential Escort Unit, known as Prescot, is responsible for the safety of the president and their family.
