A foreign national was killed on Thursday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle in President William Ruto’s motorcade on Ngong Road, prompting an investigation by the National Police Service (NPS).

The incident occurred near Adams Arcade as the presidential convoy was traveling from Lang’ata to Kibra. Witnesses reported that the middle-aged white man was trying to cross the road when he was hit by a speeding government vehicle. The driver reportedly failed to stop, leading to a chaotic scene as bystanders tried to help the victim.
In a statement, police spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga confirmed the accident, saying, “Following a traffic collision at Adams Arcade involving a government vehicle, which resulted in the death of a foreign national, the NPS is handling the case, and investigations are ongoing.”
Emergency responders arrived, but the victim was declared dead at the scene. His body was later taken to the City Mortuary for an autopsy. Authorities have not yet released details about the victim’s identity or nationality.
“The National Police Service urges motorists, pedestrians, and all road users to be cautious and follow traffic regulations to prevent accidents,” the statement concluded. Meanwhile, police are reviewing traffic footage and interviewing witnesses as part of their investigation.
