Equity Reveals Hours When Mobile Banking Will Be Unavailable

Customers of Equity Bank will experience a temporary interruption of mobile money services on several digital platforms as the lender carries out scheduled system maintenance.

In a notice issued to customers, the bank announced that the maintenance exercise will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, between 1:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.

During the four-hour maintenance window, mobile money services accessed through the Equity Mobile App and Online platform, Equity Online for Business, *247# USSD service, STK, and the EVA Chatbot will be unavailable.

The bank, however, assured customers that several other banking channels will remain operational throughout the maintenance period. These include Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), debit and credit card services, Point of Sale (POS) terminals, Equitel services, banking agents, and Cash Deposit Machines.

Equity Bank apologized for any inconvenience caused and advised customers to plan their transactions accordingly to avoid disruptions during the scheduled downtime.

The lender also used the opportunity to remind customers to remain vigilant against fraudsters. Equity reiterated that it only contacts customers through the official number 0763 000 000 and never requests sensitive banking information such as account details, PINs, passwords, One-Time Passwords (OTPs), or card information via phone calls or SMS.

The scheduled maintenance comes as banks increasingly invest in system upgrades aimed at enhancing the security, reliability, and efficiency of digital banking services amid growing adoption of mobile and online transactions.
