The judges are contesting the JSC’s directive requiring them to respond to petitions filed earlier this year seeking their removal from office.
Through public interest litigant Pariken Ole Esho, the judges argue that the directive undermines judicial independence, is unconstitutional, and infringes on their judicial immunity.
The petition also names the Attorney General and individuals such as former LSK president Nelson Havi, who is among those that filed complaints with the JSC.

Justices Chacha Mwita, Lawrence Mugambi, and Alfred Mabeya will preside over the hearing, which follows interim court orders suspending the JSC proceedings pending the case’s conclusion.
The matter is listed for mention today.
