AFC Leopards’ forward Arthur Gitego has issued a warning to Police ahead of their upcoming Premier League match, emphasizing the intensity of the encounter anticipated at Dandora Stadium.
While Police are in pursuit of the league title, AFC Leopards find themselves out of contention mathematically. However, a victory or even a draw for Leopards could significantly hinder Police’s aspirations for the league title. Additionally, a win for Leopards would serve to advance their rivals, Gor Mahia, closer to securing their 21st domestic championship.

Gitego stressed the importance of securing a win for their supporters and maintaining their positive momentum, with a top-five finish still within reach. Since his arrival from Marine FC in Rwanda earlier this year, Gitego has showcased his scoring prowess, netting a total of seven goals, two in the league and five in the FKF Cup.
Despite a slow start in the first leg, Leopards have demonstrated resilience, winning all three of their recent matches across competitions following a defeat to Gor Mahia. They currently occupy the sixth position on the league table, trailing Police by ten points.

Under the guidance of Salim Babu since December 16, 2023, Police have enjoyed an impressive 20-match unbeaten streak, comprising 11 victories and three draws in the FKF Premier League, along with four wins in the FKF Cup.
The previous encounter between the two sides ended in a 2-2 draw, setting the stage for an eagerly anticipated rematch, coincidentally scheduled for the FKF Cup semifinals later in May.
Gitego emphasized the unity within the Leopards squad, expressing confidence in their ability to overcome Police, who present a formidable challenge. He called for continued support from their fans.
In response, Police coach Salim Babu acknowledged the experience within his squad and outlined his strategic approach as they aim for success, including a potential opportunity for continental football.
Meanwhile, Police striker Tito Okello, currently tied with Gor Mahia’s Benson Omalla in the Golden Boot race with 15 goals each, affirmed his commitment to scoring goals and expressed determination ahead of the upcoming clash.
