President William Ruto’s performance in 2023 has been assessed at a grade of D plain, according to the most recent opinion poll conducted by the Infotrak research and consulting company.
The survey indicates that Ruto received a D plain, with a 47 percent approval rating from Kenyans, while his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, scored an E with a 36 percent approval rating.
Cabinet Secretaries (CS) received a D grade with a 43 percent approval rating, Parliament scored a D with 42 percent, the Senate also received a D with a 42 percent approval rating, the Judiciary got a D with a 47 percent approval rating, and the Police scored a D with a 45 percent approval rating.
The opposition was also poorly rated by Kenyans, receiving a 47 percent (D) approval rating, while County Assemblies also scored 45 percent (D).
In the polls, Ruto obtained a 50 percent approval rating in Rift Valley, 41 percent in Nyanza, and 48 percent in Nairobi. Gachagua scored 37 percent in Rift Valley, 29 percent in Nyanza, and 34 percent in Nairobi.
The opposition received a 49 percent approval rating in Rift Valley, 52 percent in Nyanza, and 44 percent in Nairobi.
The research, conducted between December 18 and 19, 2023, covered all 47 counties, with 1,500 Kenyans participating in the survey.
Respondents identified the high cost of living, high taxation, unemployment, and corruption as the primary issues that the government urgently needs to address.
