Busia: DIG Eliud Lagat Opens Three New Police Stations in Funyula

On Friday, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Eliud Lagat of the Kenya Police Service officially inaugurated three new police stations in Funyula Sub-County, Busia.

The newly built Ganga Police Station, Namuduru Police Post, and Bukiri Patrol Base were funded by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), according to the National Police Service (NPS).

During the opening ceremony, DIG Lagat thanked local political leaders for their collaboration in supporting the police’s work. He emphasized the importance of officers working closely with the community to strengthen security and improve public service in the area.

Following the launch, DIG Lagat made an unscheduled visit to Sio-Port Police Station, where he encouraged the officers to remain dedicated to their duty of serving the public.

He was joined by senior officials, including Peter Ndung’u, Director of Logistics for the Kenya Police Service, Funyula MP Wilberforce Oundo, Busia County Commissioner Mwachaunga Chaunga, Western Regional Police Commander Kiprono Langat, and local residents.
