The Supreme Court is set to review the government’s appeal regarding the 2023 Finance Act, which was previously deemed unconstitutional by the Court of Appeal.
Today, the National Assembly and other appellants will present their case before a full seven-judge bench.
These appellants include the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Planning, the Attorney General, and the Kenya Revenue Authority.
Respondents in the appeal are Busia Senator Okiya Omutata, along with 52 others, including the International Commission of Jurists, Katiba Institute, and the Kenya Human Rights Commission.
