In Kisasi, Kitui, a 30-year-old man named Kimote Katee was found hanging from a tree, an apparent suicide.
The body was discovered with a nylon rope around his neck near the Mwiwe River in Ngusyini village.
The body has been transported to Kitui County referral hospital for a postmortem.
Authorities are concerned about the increasing trend of suicides, with up to two cases reported daily.
The World Health Organization attributes such incidents to factors like unemployment, academic pressures, financial strain, bullying, substance abuse, mental health disorders, and family history of suicide.
