M-pesa Foundation aims to impact 1,000 women living with fistula by the end of the year by upgrading hospitals and healthcare facilities to better monitor and treat fistula cases.
The foundation is working with partners, the government, and communities to break the cycle of female genital fistula and restore hope and dignity to women.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Makueni County Government, the United Nations Fund for Population Activities, JHPIEGO, and the Flying Doctors Society of Africa, the Foundation has invested Sh8.5 million in free fistula for the next week.
The foundation has also invested in maternal and newborn health and a telemedicine programme called Daktari Smart. Since its inception in 2010, the foundation has reached over 3 million people in Kenya. M-Pesa Foundation Safaricom PLC
