Nairobi Immigration Office to Open Saturdays for Passport Collection

The Immigration Department has announced that the Nairobi office at Nyayo House will be open this Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm for the collection of passports.

This move aims to facilitate the process for Kenyans who have applied for passports in Nairobi and have been notified to collect them. The decision follows ongoing challenges faced by passport applicants in recent years.

Led by Committee Chair Gabriel Tongoyo, the MPs suggested the establishment of additional immigration offices nationwide to streamline the passport application process. Currently, there are only eight immigration offices across the country, leading many Kenyans to travel long distances to apply for passports.

Tongoyo emphasized the need for adequate resources and the opening of more offices to achieve the goal of issuing passports within three days.
