Kenyan comedian and digital creator Eric Omondi has pledged to expose corrupt governors on billboards, leveraging his significant social media influence to support the needy in Kenya.
He emphasizes that his charitable acts stem from gratitude to his fans and not political ambitions. Through platforms like Instagram, Omondi receives pleas for help from individuals in need and organizes assistance plans, largely funded by his supporters. He ensures transparency by verifying the recipients to prevent scams.
Regarding his “SISI KWA SISI” project, Omondi intends to maintain its current scope, focused on uplifting the lives of suffering Kenyans. In response to a video showing a boy struggling to cross a broken bridge to school, Omondi spearheaded the construction of a new bridge, costing Ksh1.8 million, with plans to inaugurate it on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Expressing disappointment in the Kenyan government’s corruption, Omondi criticizes its failure to prioritize citizens’ needs over political interests.
He believes that the power lies with the people and intends to mobilize youth support from August 2024 to 2027 to ensure accountability in government. Omondi plans to finance billboards and songs to prevent the repetition of past mistakes in the 2027 elections.
