A teacher and a student have died after a light aircraft crashed in Kipeto, Kajiado County, during a routine training flight.
The accident occurred on Friday, September 18, in the Kipeto area near a wind power plant.

Kajiado West Police Commander Maureen Kuto confirmed the incident, saying the aircraft was carrying two people at the time of the crash.
According to Kuto, the student died at the scene, while the teacher succumbed to injuries while being transported to Kajiado Referral Hospital.
“The first victim succumbed at the scene while the second succumbed while being rushed to hospital,” she said.
Preliminary investigations indicate that poor visibility caused by heavy morning mist may have played a role in the accident.
Kuto said the pilot attempted to make an emergency landing after encountering the difficult visibility conditions, but the aircraft eventually crashed.
Emergency responders and other members of the public gathered at the scene as authorities assessed the wreckage.
Parts of the aircraft, including sections of its metal body, luggage believed to belong to the occupants and other debris were scattered around the crash site.
Police said aviation experts had been dispatched to the area to examine the wreckage and establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.
