Police in Ugunja, Siaya County, are investigating the death of a 38-year-old woman who succumbed to injuries after she was allegedly stabbed by her husband.
The deceased, identified as Beatrice Owino, was taken to Homegrown Hospital in Ugunja Township after suffering stab wounds. However, she died while undergoing treatment.

According to police, the incident was reported on Wednesday, after which officers visited and processed the scene.
Owino had reportedly sustained injuries to her left wrist and the right side of her abdomen. Her husband is alleged to have attacked her before fleeing the area at around 9:30am.
Detectives photographed and documented the scene as they began investigations. The woman’s body was later moved to Homegrown Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
Police were still searching for the suspect on Friday as investigations continued.
Miraa Vendor Found Dead in Limuru
In a separate incident in Kiambu County, police are investigating the suspected murder of a 30-year-old miraa vendor whose body was discovered inside an unfinished building in Limuru.
The deceased, identified as Austin Odhiambo Otieno, was reportedly a miraa seller operating around the Bata area.
Police said his body was discovered at approximately 2:50pm on Wednesday by a woman working in a nearby kitchen garden along a fence close to the construction site.
Officers who arrived at the scene found Otieno lying in a pool of blood inside the incomplete building. He had visible injuries to his head.
Crime scene investigators documented the area before the body was taken to Tigoni Level IV Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy.
Detectives are working to establish the circumstances and possible motive behind the death and identify those responsible.
Man Found Dead Inside Kisumu House
Meanwhile, police in Kisumu Central are investigating the death of a 25-year-old man whose body was discovered inside a rented house in Migosi World Vision Estate.
The deceased, Ernest Ochieng Otieno, was reportedly a resident of Seme Sub-County.
Residents reportedly became suspicious after noticing a foul smell coming from the house. A resident alerted police, prompting officers to visit the premises.
Police found Ochieng lying on his back inside the house and confirmed that he had died.
The scene was processed and documented before the body was transferred to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) mortuary for preservation.
The cause of his death remains unclear, with investigators awaiting postmortem results to determine what happened and establish the immediate cause of death.
Police investigations into all three incidents are ongoing.
