The victim’s hands, legs, and neck were tied using pieces of clothing. He also had visible injuries at the back of the neck and other marks consistent with torture on his body.

Crime scene investigators from Machakos processed the area before the body was moved to Machakos Level 5 Hospital mortuary, where it awaits identification and a post-mortem examination.

According to police, there were no signs of a struggle at the scene, suggesting the man may have been killed elsewhere before being dumped at the location.

The motive behind the killing remains unknown, and officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kyumbi have opened an inquiry to establish the identity of the victim and trace those responsible.

Police noted that this is the latest in a series of similar incidents, with several bodies discovered dumped in different parts of Machakos County in recent weeks.

Machakos County Police Commander Monica Kimani confirmed that investigations are ongoing.

In a separate incident in Kakamega County, a boda boda rider was killed in what is suspected to have been an attempted robbery in Mumias West.

Police said the incident occurred around 1:50 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, when the 48-year-old rider, Samuel Manyasi, picked up a passenger at Ekero Trading Centre.

While near St. Jude’s School for the Deaf, the passenger allegedly stabbed him on the right side of the neck before fleeing with the motorcycle.
