Police in Matungulu, Machakos County, have launched investigations after the body of an unidentified man was found in a dam early Saturday.
The remains were discovered stuffed inside a sack floating on the water. Authorities suspect the victim may have been killed elsewhere before the body was transported and dumped at the site.

According to police, the circumstances point to a possible murder, although investigations are ongoing to establish the exact cause of death. It is believed the sack was used in an attempt to conceal the crime.
Local witnesses who responded to the scene said the body had severe injuries. Boda boda riders, led by Kalandini chairman Boniface Kioko, were among the first to spot the suspicious sack and alert authorities.
Officers from Kalandini Police Post and Tala Police Station, together with residents, retrieved the body from the dam. Witnesses noted the deceased was not known in the area and had visible head injuries.
The body was moved to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital mortuary, where it awaits identification and a postmortem.
