‘It’s Not True!’ – Tuju Denies Claims in Court

Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju on Tuesday appeared before the Kibera Law Courts and denied charges of allegedly providing false information to a public officer.

His court appearance followed a summons issued by Senior Principal Magistrate Stella Atambo for plea taking in a case tied to his recent disappearance, which had raised public concern and triggered legal efforts to establish his whereabouts.

Court documents indicate that the alleged offence occurred on March 21, 2026, at Entim Sidai Spa and Wellness Sanctuary in Karen, within Lang’ata Sub-county.

Prosecutors claim Tuju reported to a police officer from Karen Police Station that he had been followed by unknown individuals and later abducted.

They argue that the report was false and that Tuju was aware it was untrue, but still intended for the officer to act on it.

When the charges were presented in court, Tuju rejected them and entered a not guilty plea.

His lawyer applied for his release on bond, stating that the offence is a misdemeanour and citing his extensive history in public service.
