Al Jazeera Journalist Killed in Israeli Strike in Gaza

Al Jazeera journalist Hamza al-Dahdouh, the eldest son of the Gaza bureau chief, was killed in an Israeli strike in southern Gaza while reporting in a vehicle with other journalists.

Freelance journalist Mustafa Thuraya also lost his life in the same incident. The strike occurred between Khan Younis and Rafah.

Hamza and the journalists were en route to the Moraj area northeast of Rafah, designated a “humanitarian zone” by the Israeli army. The strike drew condemnation, with Al Jazeera accusing Israel of violating press freedom.

The total number of journalists killed in the Gaza conflict exceeds 75, and the overall death toll in Gaza has surpassed 22,000, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
