Traders in Tears as Bulldozers Destroy Shops in Roysambu

Hundreds of traders along the Thika Superhighway in Roysambu have been left counting losses worth millions after government bulldozers, deployed by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), demolished their kiosks and shops overnight.

Business owners said the demolitions wiped out their livelihoods, leaving many stranded and without income.

The operation comes just two weeks after similar demolitions in Githurai 45, where the government plans to construct a parking facility.

Meanwhile, traders in Allsops and Drive areas have received notices to vacate, raising fears that further demolitions could target more businesses along the highway.
