Birmingham City has officially terminated Wayne Rooney’s contract with immediate effect, the decision confirmed after Rooney failed to secure victories in 13 out of 15 games under his charge. The club statement affirmed, “Unfortunately, Wayne’s time with us did not go as planned, and we have decided to move in a different direction.”

In a notable transfer, Marcos Leonardo is on his way to Benfica, with an agreement already in place with Santos for the Brazilian striker. The initial bid on Tuesday paved the way for the deal, with a fixed fee of €18 million and no additional add-ons. Marcos Leonardo has given his acceptance, pending the final checks and signatures.

Donyell Malen might depart Borussia Dortmund either in January or the upcoming summer, with the winter transfer window being a concrete possibility. His recent decision to sign with SEG as his new agency suggests an openness to offers. If Jadon Sancho joins BVB, the likelihood of Malen’s exit could increase as they await proposals.

Tottenham and Genoa have scheduled new talks to progress on the Radu Dragusin deal. Spurs have made an initial verbal proposal of around €23 million, while Genoa’s asking price stands at €30 million. Contacts are expected to resume soon, with Postecoglou remaining committed to securing Dragusin.

The Jadon Sancho deal is progressing to crucial stages, with both Sancho and Borussia Dortmund keen on concluding the deal swiftly. Talks are currently underway, and Manchester United is open to accepting a loan, although they will need to contribute to Sancho’s salary, while BVB will pay the loan fee.

Napoli continues to work on finalizing the Lazar Samardzic deal with Udinese, as negotiations enter crucial stages. Positive sentiments are shared by both the club and the player. Meanwhile, Napoli’s first signing, Pasquale Mazzocchi, is set to undergo medical tests today after completing a €3 million deal.

Chelsea’s Alex Matos is expected to undergo medical tests at Huddersfield Town today, and the loan deal is set to be finalized immediately afterward.

Benfica is on the verge of signing Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo from Santos, having submitted a formal bid in the last few hours. The deal is anticipated to be sealed at €18 million, with the structure of the add-ons being the final step.

Zenit St Petersburg is nearing the completion of a deal to sign Brazilian center-back Nino from Fluminense for a fee of €5 million, almost reaching its conclusion. Nino was close to joining Nottingham Forest in December but is now set to join Zenit.
