Private detective Jane Mugo has been acquitted by a Nairobi Court in a case where she was accused of threatening to shoot businessman Deepa Shah.

Senior Principal Magistrate Susan Shitubi, presiding over the case at Milimani Law Courts, ruled that the prosecution failed to provide sufficient evidence to support the allegations against Mugo.
In her ruling, Magistrate Shitubi highlighted significant inconsistencies in the testimonies of two prosecution witnesses. Additionally, she dismissed claims that Mugo had a pistol during the alleged altercation, noting that no firearm was recovered when investigators raided her home.
Mugo had been charged in 2019 with threatening to kill Shah on February 4, 2019, at Kyuna Close, Spring Valley. She denied the charges and had been out on bond throughout the proceedings.
