In Kirinyaga, a tragic incident unfolded when a 20-year-old woman, Grace Wambui, threw her two sons, aged three and four, into a swamp following a domestic dispute, shocking the residents of Maithairu village.
The children’s bodies were discovered in the village marsh, left exposed by a contractor.
Thomas Kabuci, who owns the land where the swamp is located, interacted with Wambui after the incident, learning that she was driven to the act after being ejected from her home by her husband.
Police intervened after she was assaulted by locals, rescuing her and initiating an investigation. The bodies were taken to Kerugoya mortuary, pending further examination.
