In a post shared on his official X account on the night of June 18, 2025, Salasya praised Maraga’s integrity and ethical conduct throughout his judicial career, calling him a man of high moral standards.

“I will nominate Maraga as my Attorney General. He upheld integrity and ethics during his time in office,” Salasya wrote.

Interestingly, Maraga has also declared his presidential ambition for the 2027 elections, marking a transition from the judiciary to active politics. In an interview with NTV, Maraga said he intends to offer alternative leadership and confront corruption, impunity, and tribalism.

Maraga, who served as Chief Justice from 2016 to 2021, said his decision was driven by a desire to restore ethical governance and accountability in Kenya.

“After deep reflection, I’ve decided to run in 2027 to help redirect this country from its current destructive path,” he said.

Meanwhile, Salasya has been touring the country to drum up support for his presidential bid. Earlier this week, he revealed plans to incorporate prayer warriors into his campaign team.

Posting on Instagram on June 16, he said he would resume his campaigns once investigations into the death of teacher and blogger Albert Ojwang’ are concluded.

Salasya is vying to unseat President William Ruto in the upcoming polls.
