President William Ruto on Tuesday appeared in full military uniform for the first time as he presided over the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Day celebrations held at Moi Barracks in Eldoret.
KDF Day, marked annually on October 14, honors the bravery, sacrifice, and service of Kenya’s military personnel.
As Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, President Ruto wore the full ceremonial attire while inspecting the parade and leading the commemorations.

The event highlighted the KDF’s continued commitment to defending the nation and supporting community development initiatives.
“KDF Day reminds us that true strength is found not only in defence but also in compassion and service to our people,” the President noted, paying tribute to the men and women in uniform.

The occasion also showcased the military’s ongoing community outreach and humanitarian efforts, underscoring that national security and social responsibility go hand in hand.
