Nairobi will host the Africa Climate Investment Summit (ACIS) from October 28 to 30, 2025, bringing together over 1,500 entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, corporates, and development partners to chart a unified African position on climate investment.
The gathering comes just days before COP30, set to begin in November in Belém, Brazil, and will focus on mobilising financing, strengthening partnerships, and showcasing scalable climate solutions.

Organised by the Kenya Climate Innovation Centre (KCIC) and partner hubs across Africa, the summit will spotlight four key sectors: agribusiness, renewable energy, waste and water management, and nature-based solutions. These sectors highlight both the continent’s vulnerabilities and its opportunities for climate-resilient growth.
Despite contributing only 4% of global emissions, Africa bears some of the worst effects of climate change — from prolonged droughts and water scarcity to biodiversity loss and energy poverty — costing between $7 and $15 billion annually. Yet, the continent holds vast potential, with 60% of the world’s best solar resources, fertile farmland, and rich ecosystems.
ACIS aims to bridge the financing gap, with less than 2% of global climate funding currently reaching African innovators. The summit will launch the Africa Climate Investment Platform and Revolving Fund to channel direct financing into climate-smart enterprises, alongside the African Climate Investment Manifesto, to be presented at COP30.
KCIC CEO Joseph Marabula said the summit will connect entrepreneurs directly with investors while positioning Africa as a leader in climate-smart innovation. His Nigerian counterpart, Bankole Oloruntoba, stressed that every deal struck at ACIS translates into resilience for farmers, clean energy for families, and protection for vulnerable communities.
For investors, ACIS presents a pipeline of investment-ready enterprises; for corporates, a platform for visibility and leadership in sustainability; and for governments and development partners, an opportunity to align and coordinate climate finance strategies.
Described as both a marketplace and a rallying call, ACIS seeks to drive Africa’s green transformation while amplifying the continent’s voice on the global climate stage.
