Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse has announced that he will Tuesday afternoon move an impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Documents seen by media indicated that the MP was the mover of the motion that has recently elicited anxiety and massive reactions among Kenyans.
Confirming the development, Mwengi in a statement confirmed that he will move the motion and said he will anchor Gachagua’s ouster motion on alleged violation of Articles 150 and 145 of the Kenyan constitution.
“The framers of our constitution must have intended the testing of every provision therein,” he said.
“That’s why, this afternoon, as part of my civic duty as a citizen and also as part of my role as MP, I will give notice of motion for the removal of the Deputy President from office, by impeachment, pursuant to Articles 150 and 145 of our Constitution.”
The MP added:
“The evidence we shall table will shock Kenyans. Watch this space.”
