Police in Thongoni, Makueni County, are investigating a suspected case of patricide after a 31-year-old man allegedly strangled his 76-year-old father to death.

The incident, reported on the evening of May 20, 2025, was brought to the attention of authorities around 4:51 p.m. by a local resident.
The suspect, identified as John, is accused of murdering his father, referred to as ‘X’.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed bruises on the victim’s legs, suggesting a possible struggle prior to death.
The area was processed for evidence, and the body was moved to Thongoni Level Four Hospital mortuary for preservation pending an autopsy.
Investigations are ongoing as police work to uncover the motive behind the killing.
