Preliminary investigations indicate that the bar attendant had closed the premises around 11:20 pm on Friday and was finishing up with a customer when they heard shouting from the rooftop. Upon checking, they discovered that Kyalo had attempted to access the bar through the roof and accidentally touched a live exposed electric wire, resulting in instant electrocution.
Crime scene investigators documented the scene, and the body was transported to Kangundo Level IV Hospital mortuary, pending a postmortem examination. Authorities have urged property owners to properly insulate electrical wiring to prevent similar accidents.

In a related incident, a postmortem confirmed that a police officer, Jackson Mwirigi, who died in Kitengela, Kajiado County, also succumbed to electrocution. The autopsy, conducted by pathologist Simon Omuok in the presence of family and investigating officers, determined electrocution as the cause of death. His body was moved to Meru for preservation ahead of burial arrangements.

Meanwhile, in Kieni East Subcounty, Nyeri County, rescue efforts continue for a man suspected to have suffocated while digging a 75-foot borehole in Ngarariga Village. Reports indicate that Stephen Gitahi descended into the hole while his colleague remained above.
Gitahi suddenly stopped communicating, raising fears of suffocation. Rescue teams were hindered by heavy rainfall, and operations are expected to resume once conditions improve, with concerns about the victim’s survival remaining high.
