Kitui County Women Representative, Dr. Irene Kasalu, celebrated International Menstrual Hygiene Day at Yatta Primary School in Yatta Kwa Vonza, Kitui Rural, emphasizing empowerment and breaking menstrual health taboos.

She announced the distribution of 647,192 packets of sanitary pads to 1,292 schools, benefiting 146,589 girls. Kasalu urged girls to stand strong against exploitation and shape their destinies.
The event was attended by local dignitaries, including MCA Hon. Mark Kitute Nding’o and Hon. Mary Mbithe.
