Kalonzo Urges Gen Z to Register as Voters After Wiper Endorsement

Wiper Patriotic Front presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka has urged Kenyan youth to register in large numbers as voters, saying they hold the power to bring change in the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during the Wiper National Delegates Convention at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, Kalonzo appealed to the Gen Z generation to use their voices and the ballot to end what he termed as the Kenya Kwanza administration’s misrule.

“If you have not registered, I implore you to do so. When we rise together, no mountain is too high and no government can suppress us. Kenya will rise again,” he said.

Kalonzo accused the current government of intimidating citizens for exercising their constitutional rights, referencing recent protests where police used excessive force.

“This government ordered that you be shot, not in the head but in the leg, because you dared to exercise your rights,” he said, urging youth to “shoot back at the ballot.”

He pledged to lead with integrity, fairness, and a vision for economic renewal, assuring Kenyans that “hope is alive” and promising a leadership that restores dignity and opportunity for all.

The event also saw Kalonzo officially endorsed as the Wiper Patriotic Front’s presidential flagbearer for 2027, with delegates approving the party’s rebranding and grassroots mobilisation roadmap.

Among those present were former DP Rigathi Gachagua, DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, PLP leader Martha Karua, former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, and ex-National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.
