The polls will cover 24 seats nationwide, including the Baringo senatorial seat, six parliamentary positions, and 17 county assembly wards.
Ethekon urged Returning Officers to uphold professionalism, integrity, and impartiality despite heightened scrutiny. He said their role would be key in demonstrating the Commission’s credibility under his leadership.
“You have consistently proven your competence. Let Kenyans see transparency and integrity in how we deliver these competitive by-elections,” he said.
Commissioner Marykaren Sorobit encouraged officers to prioritise meticulous planning, while assuring them of institutional backing.
CEO Hussein Marjan highlighted logistics, staff training, security coordination, stakeholder engagement, and accurate results transmission as the Commission’s top priorities.
He stressed that the upcoming by-elections would not only test IEBC’s credibility but also serve as a rehearsal for the 2027 General Election.
