Kajiado Senator Seki Lenku Ole Kanar confirmed the plan while declaring his intention to vie for office under the yet-to-be-unveiled party.
“We agreed we need a political vehicle, and we’ve settled on the one led by Wamunyoro. I’m inviting everyone to join us in Nairobi for the launch of our new party. Its chairman will come from Kajiado County,” Ole Kanar said.
Ole Kanar, who is eyeing the Kajiado governor seat, expressed optimism that Gachagua’s new party will offer Kenyans a renewed political vision.
Following his fallout with President William Ruto and subsequent impeachment, Gachagua has kept the public in suspense over his 2027 political plans and the party he would align with.
Speaking during a media interview with Egesa FM on Monday, Gachagua revealed that his upcoming party will be national in scope, although its roots lie in the Mount Kenya region.
“I will be unveiling a national party this week, with its foundation in Mount Kenya,” he said.
Gachagua recently resigned from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), branding it as a dangerous force for the country’s stability and future.
In his resignation letter, addressed to the UDA Secretary General and copied to the party chair and Registrar of Political Parties, Gachagua accused UDA of betraying its original ideals.
He claimed the party had failed to deliver on its promise to transform Kenya, instead driving the nation toward economic hardship, weakened institutions, and constitutional violations.
