Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has pledged to work alongside Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua.
Gachagua emphasized that the partnership would benefit from Karua’s vast political experience. Speaking on Saturday after a meeting with Karua at her Kirinyaga home, the former DP mentioned that he would consult Karua frequently in the future.
“We’ve had a productive discussion and agreed to work together with other like-minded Kenyans moving forward. Many people are looking for leadership, and we will join forces with patriots and individuals who truly care for this country,” Gachagua stated.
He expressed happiness about uniting with Karua, believing her experience and courage will contribute to the progress of the Mt. Kenya region.
“We stand to gain a lot from her advice. We will continue to consult her regularly, along with other well-meaning Kenyans, to help liberate this country,” he added.
Gachagua, accompanied by his wife Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, arrived at Karua’s rural home on Saturday morning.
Karua voiced confidence in the partnership, describing it as a powerful force. She called for people of goodwill to unite in demanding accountability.
“Today is a significant day. We have come together with my brother Gachagua, and the journey to unite and liberate Kenya has begun. We will collaborate with people from all regions of the country,” Karua said.
This marks the first major political meeting between Gachagua and Karua since his removal from the deputy president position. Karua had been a prominent critic of Gachagua before the 2022 elections, serving as former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s running mate.
The meeting also coincides with Karua’s Narc Kenya Party rebranding after parting ways with the Azimio coalition.
