FKF Set to Utilize 2020 Electoral Code for Upcoming Election

The National Executive Committee of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) convened on Saturday morning, reaching unanimous decisions that will significantly influence Kenyan football in 2024.

Crucially, the NEC initiated the FKF elections for 2024, scheduled later in the year, confirming that the electoral process will adhere to the FKF Electoral Code (2020), previously employed in the last FKF elections. This decision aims to ensure consistency and transparency in the electoral proceedings.

Additionally, the NEC resolved to conduct the Annual General Meeting on March 16, 2024, in Nairobi, where the FKF Electoral Board and Electoral Code (2020) will be ratified.

Among other key resolutions, the committee approved a comprehensive calendar for all national teams, encompassing the senior Harambee Stars, junior squads, and women’s teams. This detailed calendar is intended to enhance planning and preparation for crucial competitions.

Furthermore, the NEC endorsed the FKF’s competitions calendar for 2024, covering all leagues and competitions under the Federation. This approval provides clarity for clubs, enabling effective season planning.

In discussions, members also adopted the FKF’s budget for 2024, allocating resources strategically to fulfill core objectives such as developing football infrastructure, implementing grassroots programs, promoting elite player development, refining refereeing standards, and organizing competitions.

The Federation remains committed to sound governance practices and the advancement of football in Kenya, with these resolutions paving the way for a more productive 2024 for all stakeholders.
