Nyeri County, Kenya – Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has arrived at Mweiga Stadium in Kieni, Nyeri County, for a somber memorial service honoring the victims of the tragic fire at Endarasha Hillside Academy.
The service has drawn leaders from across the country, reflecting the national grief over the incident.
The Deputy President is accompanied by prominent figures, including Education Cabinet Secretary Migosi Ogamba and Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang. Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, his deputy David Kinaniri, and Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga are also present, along with Kitui Senator Enock Wambua and Kieni MP Njoroge Wainaina, who is hosting the event.
Other notable attendees include Nyeri Woman Representative Rahab Mukami, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris, Taita Taveta Woman Representative Lydia Haika, Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru (Mejjadonk), and EALA MP Kanini Kega. Several members of the county assembly, led by Nyeri Speaker Mwangi Gichuhi, are in attendance as well.
Among the former high-profile leaders attending the service are former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, former Defence Cabinet Minister Eugene Wamalwa, ex-Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, and former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni, all showing their solidarity with the affected families.
