China’s Sinotruk Unveils New Truck Models in Kenya

The trucks were launched on Thursday, with CFAO Mobility appointed as the official local distributor.

Speaking in Nairobi, CFAO Mobility’s general manager for Sinotruk, Sarfraz Premji, said the newly launched trucks are designed to transform the transport sector. He cited their increased payload capacity and larger fuel tanks, which minimize refueling stops, allow for longer trips, and ultimately lower fuel expenses.

“These models have proven reliability and are built for long-term performance, making them top contenders in the light- and medium-duty categories,” said Premji.

He added that Chinese-made trucks are becoming increasingly popular in Kenya, as they are engineered to suit the region’s road conditions.

Premji emphasized that by partnering with Sinotruk, CFAO is offering trucks that prioritize power, efficiency, durability, and driver comfort, supported by a nationwide after-sales service network.

“The new models are ideal for both last-mile deliveries and long-distance heavy load transport,” he noted.

Alex Cui, Sinotruk’s sales manager for Kenya, highlighted that the trucks are assembled locally, helping to cut delivery times, ensure product availability, and enhance customer service.

This launch follows a recent memorandum of understanding signed between Sinotruk International and Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers, paving the way for increased local assembly of Sinotruk vehicles in the country.
