Her family and friends, who had been searching for her since the weekend, located her body at the morgue, where it was confirmed that she had died in a road accident.

Police believe she was struck by a vehicle near a carwash area along Thika Road after being dropped off by a bodaboda rider. The family is still trying to understand the circumstances of her death, as it’s unclear how she ended up on the highway.

Wanjiru, a third-year student studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, had reportedly lost consciousness after drinking during the night out. Her family suspects she may have been drugged, as she was the only one in the group who passed out.

Investigations are ongoing as her family seeks clarification on the events leading to her death. Authorities are questioning people who were with her last and are working to trace the rider who dropped her off at the scene where she was hit.
