Bishop Michael Wanderi Reflects on Betty Bayo’s ministry

Christian Foundation Fellowship (CFF) overseer Bishop Michael Wanderi has shared heartfelt memories of gospel singer and preacher Betty Bayo, who died on Monday, November 10, 2025.

Betty — known for hits such as Busy Busy and 11th Hour — was a dedicated, baptised member of CFF Kiambu, where Wanderi serves as the lead minister.

In a TikTok message posted on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Bishop Wanderi celebrated the power and passion behind Betty’s preaching, noting that her sermons often opened with energetic renditions of her popular songs.

“Betty Bayo’s ministration at CFF Kiambu Town and His Grace Prayer Mission,” he captioned the video.

He also shared a compilation of at least 15 of her past sermons, showing Betty singing with intensity as she preached. The clips featured her encouraging worshippers to speak blessings into their lives, and recounting how God’s grace elevated her both as a preacher and as a musician.

In another clip, Betty grows emotional as she welcomes gospel artist and pastor Evelyne Wanjiru to CFF, giving a heartfelt testimony about how Evelyne’s bold move into live music inspired her own journey.

“She was the first Kenyan artist brave enough to pursue live music. When I struggled with it myself, her story gave me strength. I knew I would get there one day,” Betty is heard saying.

Memorial arrangements

Bishop Wanderi’s reflection came shortly after he announced that Betty Bayo’s memorial service will take place at CFF Kiambu Town on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

During a joint press briefing with Betty’s family and the burial committee on Friday, November 14, Wanderi said the service will begin at 2 pm and urged Kenyans from all walks of life to attend.

“I invite all Kenyans to join us on Sunday at 2 pm for the memorial service. We will mourn together, honour her life, and celebrate the legacy she leaves behind,” he said.

The bishop described Betty as an instrumental figure in the church — not just a member, but an active minister who constantly supported and uplifted others.

“She wasn’t just another congregant. She played a major role in ministry, and that’s why this loss hits us so deeply,” he said.

He added that her sudden passing has left the church and gospel fraternity in deep sorrow.

“The whole country is grieving. She wasn’t unwell for long, so her death has shocked many. There is a heavy silence everywhere because of her departure,” he said.
