‘Bad girl’ Millie Odhiambo Clashes With Robert Alai Over Winnie Odinga

Tensions within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) flared on Saturday after Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo confronted Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai for comments aimed at EALA MP Winnie Odinga.

Odhiambo—who often refers to herself as a “bad girl”—spoke out after Alai criticised Winnie for cautioning unnamed individuals she accused of secretly striking deals with President William Ruto to weaken ODM from within.

Alai dismissed Odhiambo’s rebuke, questioning her influence in the party. He accused Winnie of using “bedroom stereotypes” in her attacks on female leaders and suggested her political standing stemmed more from her family background than her own achievements.

His criticism prompted an immediate reaction from Odhiambo during the ODM@20 anniversary celebrations in Mombasa.

“As someone who stands up for women, I see Alai enjoys intimidating them. We will face you directly if you attack Winnie Odinga. That is where Baba’s heart lies,” she declared.

Alai responded defiantly.

“I’m glad the message landed and that the party’s chief idler felt the need to reply,” he fired back.

The exchange comes at a time when ODM is navigating internal unease, with senior figures publicly clashing as the party debates its future after Raila Odinga’s death.

A day earlier, Siaya Governor James Orengo cautioned ODM members against backing President Ruto for a second term, stressing that the party has strong contenders who can challenge him in the 2027 elections.
